The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), VISN 4, Network Contracting Office 4 (NCO 4), is seeking information and potential qualified sources capable of providing Air Filters. The filters will be delivered to the Pittsburgh VA Medical Center, located in Pittsburgh, PA 15215. BACKGROUND: The University Drive AC shop needs filters for the upcoming spring preventative maintenance of the air handlers. Salient Features: List of requirements your desired item must meet. Filters should be tested by an independent third-party testing laboratory. Pleated Air Filter 30-40% Frame needs to be made beverage board with double thickness in the perimeter wall. Media backing made of heavy-duty, galvanized expanded metal support grid and moisture resistant. Filter Material should be made of 100% synthetic non-static charged material, moisture resistant, and uses moisture-resistant adhesive. MERV 8 performance air filters hold more dust and can withstand stronger airflow than general-purpose air filters. They meet or exceed the requirements for the MERV 8 rating by capturing 75% to 80% of particles in the 3 to 10-micron range and 20% to 35% of particles in the 1 to 3-micron range (such as lead dust, humidifier dust, coal dust, and nebulizer droplets).
