Statement of Work Spine Instrument Kit VA Maryland Health Care System Baltimore, MD 12/11/2024 PURPOSE: The VA Maryland Health Care System is seeking to procure one Spine Instrument Kit that can be utilized during spinal surgeries in the operating room for continued care of veteran patients at the Baltimore VA Medical Center. The current spine instrument kit utilized during surgeries is vendor dependent. Relying on the vendor limits the VAMHCS staff s ability to sterilize our sets in a timely manner between sets and limits the number of cases per day, causing more frequent case cancellations. The procurement of this Spine Instrument Kit will improve the efficiency and stability during the surgical process and allow the staff the oversee all the sterilization, increasing their control over patient safety. If this Spine Instrument Kit is not purchased, there will be a decrease in the number of cases at the VAMHCS and veterans will have to go to a different facility to receive the proper care. This requirement will account for the procurement of one Spine Instrument Kit. The primary function of the Spine Instrument Kit is to provide a wide range of specialized surgical tools used in spinal surgeries. These tools provide the necessary precision and safety to work in narrow spaces within the spinal column, overall enhancing the safety of our veteran patients. The spine instrument kit will include a variety of necessary spinal surgery tools listed below. Key criteria include the variety of screw sizes, types of handles and drills, as well as the kit size, torque strength, and casing options. SCOPE: The contractor shall deliver and install the system with all specified salient characteristics. Only new equipment will be accepted. The contractor shall provide shipping, transport, installation, and all equipment necessary to meet the requirements and capabilities listed within the scope. The contractor shall deliver the system to the Baltimore VA Medical Center. The assembly and validation of the system must be performed by a vendor service trained representative. The contractor is responsible for identifying any missing parts or components not included in the order for the spine instrument kits to be successfully delivered and validated to their full potential. The contractor shall include accessories and consumables that have been detailed on the provided quotes. SALIENT CHARAC
